The Rebirth Trust Project was created to raise money for those who have escaped an abusive relationship, and was one of the original Trusts mentioned in the books by Elizabeth.

Many clients, we don't like to call them victims, as we believe they are survivors, them spend time in rescue shelters and face a lonely and frightening time at Christmas. Even worse, if they have children, they may feel like a failure for failing to provide a safe environment through no fault of their own and also not being able to give their child a gift. Many arrive at a shelter with nothing but the clothes they are standing in, and that includes their children too.

Together, we can reach out and make a frightened man or woman and maybe their children a little happier at Christmas by knowing someone is thinking of them. Our goal is to buy all those in a local shelter a gift at Christmas, including children, and also ensure they have a Christmas card to say they’re being thought of. These gifts take the form of items such as scented sets, beanies, scarves, mugs, little items that they can take with them when they move to a safer place.

Our secondary target, if possible is to donate a gift card to a shelter for them to buy necessities for the clients there. Believe it or not, things like toiletries and clothing are scarce, and we can help aid a shelter with this.

And our third target, should there be excess, is to donate money to the shelter for items such as new bedding, extra beds, a safety fence or counselling, extending their premises, helping with security, or maybe updating a children’s playroom or playground. Of course, TEPF would ensure that the donation is spent wisely and in benefit of the people who reach out for help.

​

So please, for those who are vulnerable, let them know that they are not alone at Christmas and never will be. Domestic violence has touched each of us at one time or another, whether ourselves, friend or family member. This is such an important thing to help those feeling isolated.
